Rose DaSilva's daughter Sharon suffers from terrible nightmares and goes in her sleep almost every night. To find out the cause, she goes against her husband's wishes to a place her daughter still calls Silent Hill. Shortly before they arrive in the deserted town, however, they both suffer an accident. When Rose regains consciousness, Sharon disappears without a trace. Her daughter's supposed shadow leads her directly to the haunted place, and she quickly discovers that Silent Hill hides a terrible secret... Rose's adopted daughter Sharon is plagued by terrifying nightmares. She walks in her sleep, putting her life at risk, and constantly calls out the name of a mysterious place called Silent Hill. Against her husband Christopher's wishes, Rose sets out with Sharon to Silent Hill to find out the cause of the nightmares. Shortly before reaching her destination, however, she loses control of her car and causes an accident, in which she falls into a deep faint. When Rose wakes up again, Sharon has disappeared without a trace. The supposed shadow of her daughter leads her straight to a haunted place where she meets the tough policewoman Cybil. Together they search for Sharon and it soon becomes clear to both that Silent Hill hides a terrible secret. A deadly darkness grips the town, trapping the few survivors. Rose has only one choice: to save her child's life, she makes a deal with evil and pays a heavy price...
