As a producer, arranger, writer and musician, guitarist Dave Hamilton is one of the leading exponents of American soul music, especially Detroit soul music. His repertoire also included gospel music, and in 1969 he founded the Sacred Sounds label - specifically for soul-influenced gospel music. In the end, only one album and various singles were produced. Small releases, probably sold in churches where the bands occasionally performed. Excerpts from this archive are now available on a 24 track sampler created with the help of Dave Hamilton himself. The songs were recorded between 1969 and 1974 and have not only been transferred from the original master tapes but are also accompanied by detailed liner notes.
