Trojan Records Jamaica, or TRJ for short, is a unique project founded by musician and producer Zak Starkey (The Who, Oasis) and his partner, Australian musician, visual artist and producer Sharna "Sshh" Liguz, whose motto "Out of Many, One Music" has brought together many longtime artists. This is the first time that artists from other islands have established a label and flagship studio here - and more importantly, created their own sound in the spirit of Muscle Shoals, Compass Point and Studio One by blending traditional sounds with blues elements and putting their own stamp on them. The first release "Red, Gold, Green & Blue" shows the identity and scope of the brand. One of the key moments is the inclusion of the excellent rhythm section of drummer Sly Dunbar and bassist Robbie Shakespeare. Everyone involved contributed ideas and helped with song selection; two-time Grammy-winning DJ and musician "Native Wayne" Jobson helped with artist selection. Listening to "Red, Gold, Green & Blue" is like seeing an old friend in a new light. Familiar blues numbers show up in a completely different, unexpectedly beautiful form in these unusual versions.
