How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb is the eleventh studio album by Irish rock band U2.The album was produced by Steve Lillywhite, Chris Thomas and Daniel Lanois. The album was a commercial success, debuting at number one in 34 countries and selling over 12 million copies. It spawned the hits "Vertigo", "Sometimes You Can't Make It on Your Own", "City of Blinding Lights", "All Because of You", "Love and Peace or Else" and "Window in the Skies". The album was met with mixed reviews from critics, who praised the band's ambition and musicianship but criticized its over-reliance on electronic effects. How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb was nominated for a Grammy Award for Album of the Year and won the Grammy Award for Best Rock Album.
