Simply the Best, released in 1991, is a compilation album by Tina Turner . The album contains Turner's greatest hits from her solo career as well as several tracks from her time with Ike Turner's band, Ike & Tina Turner Revue. Simply the Best was a huge success, reaching number one in several countries and selling over 20 million copies worldwide. The album's biggest hit was the song "The Best", which reached number one in several countries and was later certified platinum in the United States. Other hits from the album include "What's Love Got to Do with It", "I Don't Wanna Lose You" and "Proud Mary". Simply the Best is often considered Turner's best album and is cited as a major influence on later pop and R&B music.
