Kompilace původně vyšla 16. září 2002 na CD a DVD. Obsahuje výběr písní z dřívějších alb irské rockové skupiny, včetně hitů jako "Zombie", "Ode To My Family", "I Can't Be With You", "Ridiculous Thoughts", "Salvation" a mnoha dalších. Prvních sedmnáct skladeb představuje všechny singly skupiny až do roku 2002 v chronologickém pořadí. Album obsahuje také bonusovou skladbu "Daffodil Lament" a dvě nové skladby vydané v té době: "New New York" a "Stars".

"Stars: Best Of 1992-2002" dosáhlo čtvrtého místa v hitparádě v Irsku, 16. místa ve Velké Británii a USA a 23. místa v Německu.
