Už před vydáním jejího debutového alba "Come Away With Me" byli kritici na vážkách. Časopisy jako Rolling Stone a Entertainment Weekly už tehdy dvaadvacetiletou zpěvačku a klavíristku chválily jako jeden z největších talentů současnosti.
Umělkyně, která vyrostla v Texasu a nyní žije v New Yorku a již jako studentku v Dallasu ocenil její pěvecký a skladatelský talent jazzový časopis Down Beat, skutečně ovládá vzácné umění. Toto drobné stvoření téměř nepostřehnutelně spojuje blues, country, folk, jazz a pop v soudržný a silný celek.
Její hra na klavír je přirovnávána k Billu Evansovi, její vokální styl k Joni Mitchellové a Tomu Waitsovi. Ale NORAH JONES nakonec zní jako Norah Jones. Její interpretace Hanka Williamse ("Cold, Cold Heart") a Johna D.
