Annie Lennox and David Stewart knew each other from their days in the new wave band The Tourists. In 1980, the two decided to form a solo project together. Their debut album, recorded in Cologne, was quite successful and they decided to make the project permanent. Under the name Eurythmics, the duo picked up one hit after another. In addition to Annie Lennox's extravagant clothes and hairstyles, one of the group's defining characteristics was the intense synthesis of the singer's voice and David A. Stewart's excellent music. With songs like "Sweet Dreams (Are Made Of This)", ""Would I Lie To You?" and "When Tomorrow Comes," the Eurythmics have thrilled millions of listeners around the world.
