"The Specials: Protest Songs 1924-2012" is an album released in 2021 by the British ska band The Specials. This collection of songs is a curated anthology of protest music that spans nearly a century, with tracks originally written between 1924 and 2012. The album features a diverse selection of covers that have been reinterpreted by the band, including "Listening Wind" (originally by Talking Heads), "Everybody Knows" (Leonard Cohen), and the iconic "Get Up, Stand Up" (Bob Marley & The Wailers). Other notable tracks include Frank Zappa's "Trouble Every Day," the civil rights anthem "Freedom Highway," and "Black, Brown And White," which addresses racial inequality.
