The Rolling Stones release On Air!Out December 1The iconic rock band fronted by the unforgettable Mick Jagger, the Rolling Stones, are releasing On Air, a collection of radio recordings that takes listeners back to a unique era when the band played the music they loved most - blues, R&B, soul and even country. The songs come from their cheesiest years, when their domestic dominance was sealed and their coveted position on the world music stage with the title of best rock 'n' roll band was already knocking on the rehearsal room door. On Air is some of the most passionate and intense material the 'Stones' have ever released, consisting of 32 rarely heard radio recordings. Eight of them have never been played live or released commercially by the band, and the other seven were heard on the radio airwaves before they were released on any of the albums or EPs. The flagship track is the debut single and the first song played for the band at the iconic Saturday Club Come On. On Air also features the familiar R&B-tinged tracks Roll Over Beethoven or Memphis, Tennessee, the bluesy beginnings embodied in the likes of Fannie Mae and Cops And Robbers, and last but not least, the raw and elemental work of Jagger/Richards such as (I Can't Get No) Satisfaction, The Last Time and The Spider And The Fly.On Air is also an important historical artefact of the close relationship between the Rolling Stones and the BBC recording sessions, illustrated by the high frequency with which they visited their studios in the 1960s. The recordings captured on the album straddle the line between precise studio work and energetic live performances. On Air is the work of a band consisting of Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Charlie Watts, Brian Jones and Bill Wyman.
