Legendary concerts in the official version - Part 3 The Rolling Stones have unearthed a new treasure from their archives. The DVD/Blu-ray disc "From The Vault - The Marquee Club Live In 1971" will be officially released for the first time in 2015. The concert was recorded on March 26, 1971 at the Marquee Club on Wardour Street in London. The Stones had just finished touring England in 1971 and the release of "Sticky Fingers" was still a month away. However, the album was already casting its shadow. The songs "Brown Sugar", "Dead Flowers", "Bitch" and "I Got The Blues" were performed live for the first time at the Marquee Club. The recordings were made for an American television station. Due to special requests from the TV production, two alternate versions of "I Got The Blues" and "Bitch" were also created and now complete the set as bonus tracks. Mick Jagger even apologises briefly to the audience during the intermission. Aside from its legendary reputation, London's Marquee Club has always been a special place for the Rolling Stones. In 1962, Jagger and co. first performed as The Rolling Stones at the Marquee, which was still located on Oxford Street. Another bonus track captures the Rolling Stones' performance of "Brown Sugar" on Top Of The Pops, which aired in April 1971. For twenty years, the Marquee Club recording was thought to be lost until it was rediscovered in the attic. For the show's first official release, the footage was painstakingly restored and the sound was remixed by sound engineer Bob Clearmountain. Following "Hampton Coliseum (Live In 1981)" and "L.A. Forum (Live In 1975)", "The Marquee Club Live In 1971" is the third installment of the five-part "From The Vault" series. At a time when the Rolling Stones were becoming one of the best and most sought-after touring bands in the world, "The Marquee Club Live In 1971" shows us the band once again from the perspective of an intimate club concert. The elaborate editing has achieved a quality that leaves all the bootlegs making the rounds far behind. Chuck Berry's cover art is fitting as the slogan: "Let It Rock".
