In the spring of 1971, the Rolling Stones left their native England as tax refugees and moved to France. Keith Richards chose the villa "Nellcôte" in Villefranche-sur-Mer, where the band's absolute masterpiece, the album "Exile On Main Street", was subsequently recorded. "Stones In Exile" tells the story from the perspective of the musicians involved and features extensive archive footage of the band during their absence from England and the work on this extraordinary double album, considered by experts to be the best of their career. Bonus material includes interviews with all the band members: Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Charlie Watts, Bill Wyman and Mick Taylor. There is also footage of the song "Cocksucker Blues", footage of Mick Jagger and Charlie Watts returning to "Olympic Studios" and footage of Jagger's country estate "Stargroves" where much of the preparatory work for this album took place. It also features contributions from Martin Scorsese, Jack White, Don Was, Caleb Followill (Kings Of Leon), Benicio Del Toro, Will.I.Am (Black Eyed Peas), Sheryl Crow, Anita Pallenberg, Ronnie Wood, producer Jimmy Miller, sound engineer Andy Johns, photographer Dominique Tarlé and saxophonist Bobby Keys. A new edition of the album with previously unreleased bonus tracks will be released in May to accompany this exciting DVD, and a fully restored film of the "Ladies And Gentlemen...The Rolling Stones" tour will be released in the fall of 2010.
