The first official release of "The Rolling Stones: Hampton Coliseum (Live In 1981)" in the "From The Vault" series As part of the "From The Vault" series, the Rolling Stones are releasing live concerts from their archives to put an end to poorly mixed bootlegs of historic Stones events. While the Rolling Stones are currently touring Australia and New Zealand, the first title in the "From The Vault" series features the "Hampton Coliseum (Live In 1981)" concert. In 1981, the Stones toured the U.S. in record numbers: 50 concerts and $50 million in ticket sales alone. The film "From The Vault: Hampton Coliseum (Live In 1981)" captures the last stop of The Rolling Stones' gigantic and successful tour: they played Hampton, Virginia on December 18 and 19, 1981. The concert on 18 December was therefore held on Keith Richards' birthday. The Stones released their 16th studio album "Tattoo You" in August and went on tour on 25 September 1981. The December 18, 1982 concert, which can be seen on the film "From The Vault: Hampton Coliseum (Live In 1981)", the Rolling Stones made history as it was the first concert in television history to be broadcast as a "Pay-Per-View event". More historic, however, is the fact that Keith Richards fought back against a fan who stormed the stage holding a guitar as a weapon during the song "(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction". Fans are still wondering about how this fan fared to this day. In addition to some of the songs from "Tattoo You", the album includes "From The Vault: Hampton Coliseum (Live In 1981)" features classic Stones songs at their best: "Under My Thumb", "Let's Spend The Night Together", "Shattered", "Beast Of Burden", "Tumbling Dice", "Miss You", "Brown Sugar", "Jumping Jack Flash" and "(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction". "The Rolling Stones: From The Vault - Hampton Coliseum (Live In 1981)" is now available for the first time as an official concert release: meticulously restored material and remixed sound by Bob Clearmountain. Worth it.
