In 1981, the Stones toured the U.S. in record numbers: 50 concerts and $50 million in ticket sales alone. The film "From The Vault: Hampton Coliseum (Live In 1981)" captures the last stop of The Rolling Stones' gigantic and successful tour: they played Hampton, Virginia on December 18 and 19, 1981. The concert on 18 December was therefore held on Keith Richards' birthday. The Stones released their 16th studio album "Tattoo You" in August and went on tour on 25 September 1981. The December 18, 1982 concert, which can be seen on the film "From The Vault: Hampton Coliseum (Live In 1981)", the Rolling Stones made history as it was the first concert in television history to be broadcast as a "Pay-Per-View event". More historic, however, is the fact that Keith Richards fought back against a fan who stormed the stage holding a guitar as a weapon during the song "(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction". Fans are still wondering about how this fan fared to this day.
