For many, Steve Hackett is "the" Genesis guitarist. After his departure, he was a founding member of the supergroup GTR and a very active solo artist who has since released numerous studio and live albums. His reputation as an often copied and hugely inspirational guitarist is based on pure talent and a unique ability to constantly challenge and engage his audience. After the success of his previous studio album, which showcased his rock and progressive side, Hackett decided to re-engage in the creation of one of his latest albums. In "Tribute" Hackett elaborates on his admiration for classical composers such as Bach, Byrd and Granados, which he simply interprets brilliantly on his acoustic guitar. Without any tendency towards self-promotion, the music is played to a very high level of craftsmanship, making this album an absolute delight for any lover of classical music and guitar, and a must for any Hackett admirer. The material has been remastered by Roger King specifically for this 2015 reissue and features the bonus track "Trough The Trees", which Hackett composed and recorded especially for this new release.
