The Red Hot Chili Peppers released their eleventh studio album I'm With You on 29 August 2011. The album was produced by Rick Rubin, who also produced the band's previous album Stadium Arcadium. I'm With You became the group's first album to debut at number one on the Billboard 200 chart. It sold over 292,000 copies in its first week. Since then, the album has been certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America for shipping over 500,000 copies in the United States. The album's lead single, "The Adventures of Rain Dance Maggie", was released on July 18, 2011. The song became the group's twelfth number one single on the Billboard Alternative Songs chart. The second single from the album, "Monarchy of Roses", was released on November 1, 2011. The song reached number one on the Billboard Bubbling Under Hot 100 Singles chart. The album I'm With You received universally positive reviews from music critics. On Metacritic, which assigns a normalized score out of 100 to reviews from mainstream critics, the album received an average score of 71, indicating a "generally favorable rating".
