Operation: Mindcrime is considered one of the best concept metal albums of all time. Originally released on May 3, 1988, the band's third album revolves around Nikki, a recovering drug addict who becomes disillusioned with a corrupt society and joins a revolutionary group to assassinate political leaders. The album Operation: Mindcrime was produced by Peter Collins (Bon Jovi, Rush, Alice Cooper) and was recorded, mixed and mastered on a Sony 24-track digital tape recorder. It went platinum in the US in 1991 and was named one of the 100 greatest metal albums of all time by Kerrang! and Billboard magazines.
