Queensrÿche's third album Empire was released in 1990 and is considered their commercial breakthrough. The album reached number 7 on the Billboard 200 chart and was certified triple platinum by the RIAA. Empire spawned several hit singles, including "Silent Lucidity" and "Jet City Woman", and the album's title track was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Rock Song.
