Queen is an album released by the British rock band Queen in 1973. The album was recorded at De Lane Lea Studios in London and Trident Studios in London. It was produced by Roy Thomas Baker and engineered by Mike Stone. The album reached number two on the UK Albums Chart and number six on the US Billboard 200. The album has been certified six times platinum by the British Phonographic Industry and has sold over six million copies worldwide. The album spawned four singles: " Queen has been praised by music critics since its release. In a retrospective review, Stephen Thomas Erlewine of AllMusic called the album "an album that is as ambitious as it is accomplished, and one of the defining documents of 1970s hard rock."
