Released in 1980, the Flash Gordon soundtrack was a collaboration between Queen and the film's composer Howard Blake. The album is a mixture of rock and orchestral tracks, with the former predominating. The opening track "Flash's Theme" is a classic rock song that sets the tone for the rest of the album.
