Signify is the fourth studio album by Porcupine Tree, released in September 1996. It was the first Porcupine Tree album that frontman Steven Wilson recorded with the band from the beginning; previous albums were essentially solo projects with occasional help from other musicians. The recording of "Signify" was a bit strange, because even though it's a band album, we could never all be in the same room at the same time for physical reasons. With the exception of one track, "Intermediate Jesus", which was recorded outside, I tended to break down the tracks at a fairly high level and they just replaced the parts I played on the synths with actual tracks. So the other guys didn't really interfere." (Steven Wilson)
