Phil Collins: The Essential Going Back DLX version on vinyl LP in Remastered deluxe edition. This particular edition was published in Europe in publishing company Atlantic on 10. June 2016.
Phil Collins' "Going Back" in a new guise As part of an extensive reissue series called "Take A Look At Me Now", Phil Collins' eighth and final studio album "Going Back" was re-released in 2016. Collins' fourth solo album "...But Seriously" was released at the same time. "Going Back" was originally released in September 2010 and reached number one in the UK and number two in the German album chart. On the album, Collins primarily sings classic Motown and soul songs from the 1960s. The 2016 version contains a selection of 14 songs instead of 18 as on the original album, as the title "The Essential" reveals. In addition to "Going Back" and "...But Seriously", six more LPs of songs from Collins' repertoire were reissued in 2016. It started in January with his solo debut "Face Value" and his fifth solo album "Both Sides". Studio albums number two and six followed in February with "Hello, I Must Be Going!" and "Dance Into The Light". Finally, album number three "No Jacket Required" and album number nine "Testify" were released again in April. For the new release, Collins had all eight albums completely remastered and expanded with additional tracks. Above all, however, Collins added live versions to make the separate development of the songs understandable. He compiled the song selections himself. For example, the album "Going Back" includes live versions of "Papa Was A Rolling Stone", "Talkin About My Baby" and "Uptight (Everything's Alright)". Phil Collins enlisted the help of an old friend for the remastering. Nick Davis has already produced many works by Genesis and its members. Most recently, he worked on the "Genesis 1970-1975" box set. Another interesting fact about the series: all albums have been given new covers. Because of this, Phil Collins had himself re-photographed in exactly the same poses as he can be seen in on the original covers. "The Essential Going Back" will be released as a double CD and LP. An exclusive collector's box is also available with "Take A Look At Me Now", which already includes the albums "Face Value" and "Both Sides" and offers room for more releases in the series. Phil Collins' eighth and final studio album "Going Back" is finally available in a completely remastered and expanded version.
Album spans genres Pop, Funk / Soul and Funk. 180g Remastered Vinyl Deluxe Edition.
