The Black Parade is the third studio album by American rock band My Chemical Romance , released on October 23, 2006 by Reprise Records. The album was produced by Rob Cavallo, who worked with the band on their previous album Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge. The Black Parade takes the format of a theatrical rock concept album and is a rock opera centered around a dying character named "The Patient". The album tells the story of the Patient's life, death and afterlife. The album The Black Parade was released to great critical acclaim and was a commercial success, debuting at number two on the US Billboard 200 chart. It went platinum in the United States and sold over 1.5 million copies worldwide. The first single from the album, "Welcome to the Black Parade", was released on September 5, 2006. The song reached number nine on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart and was certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America. The second single from the album, "Famous Last Words", was released on February 12, 2007. The song reached number 22 on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart. The album's third and final single, "I Don't Love You", was released on May 5, 2007. Website
