Motörhead's second album "No Sleep 'Til Hammersmith" was released on 21 June 1981 and reached number one on the UK Albums Chart. It was preceded by the release of the title track "No Sleep 'Til Hammersmith" as a single on 14 June, which reached number four in the UK Singles Chart. The album was recorded at London's Roundhouse Studios in February 1981 and produced by Vic Maile. The album was a critical and commercial success, selling over 300,000 copies and earning a platinum certificate from the British Phonographic Industry (BPI). It was the first Motörhead album to feature drummer Phil "Philthy Animal" Taylor, and the last to feature guitarist "Fast" Eddie Clarke until his return to the band in 1987. The album's title track was released as a single on 14 June 1981 and reached number four in the UK Singles Chart. The album was recorded at the Roundhouse studios in London in February 1981 and produced by Vic Maile. The album was a critical and commercial success and was certified platinum by the British Phonographic Industry (BPI).
