Motörhead is an album by British heavy metal band Motörhead , released in 1977. The album was the band's first release on Chiswick Records and was produced by former Hawkwind bassist Lemmy Kilmister and guitarist "Fast" Eddie Clarke. It was recorded over two days at Roundhouse Studios in London. The album was a critical and commercial success, reaching number 24 in the UK Albums Chart. It was awarded a gold certificate by the British Phonographic Industry for selling over 100,000 copies. The album's title track, " Motörhead ", was released as a single and reached number 15 on the UK Singles Chart. Motörhead was praised by critics for its aggressive and energetic sound. Several heavy metal bands have cited it as an influence, including Metallica, Slayer and Anthrax.
