Miles Davis: The Man With The Horn = Muž S Trubkou version on vinyl LP in Standard edition. This particular edition was published in Czechoslovakia in publishing company Supraphon in cooperation with CBS year 1984.

Milesův synovec Vince Wilburn se zasloužil o to, že se trumpetista dostal ze sebevražedného ústraní, v němž se zmítal od roku 1975. Wilburn, bubeník chicagské skupiny, která hrála hudbu kombinující funk, soul a fusion jazz, přesvědčil svého strýce v New Yorku, aby s nimi šel do studia.

Miles však už neměl takové technické možnosti a musel své party na trubku nahrát později. Seznámil se také se saxofonistou Billem Evansem, baskytaristou Marcusem Millerem a přivedl zpět bubeníka Ala Fostera. Vznikla tak hybridní nahrávka, která se pohybovala mezi skladbami chicagské skupiny, které sám popisoval jako "žvýkačkovou hudbu", a velmi svobodným jazzrockem, který však nebyl tak temný a hutný jako vlhké džungle, jimiž se dezorientovaně potuloval v 70. letech. Hit "The Man With The Horn" a jeho sacharinový refrén se často hrál na FM stanicích. Milovníky jazzu, potěšené Milesovým návratem, potěšil i zbytek repertoáru. Ale bylo to právě bleskové sólo Mikea Sterna ve skladbě "Fat Time", které všechny ohromilo.
