This recording is one of the finest jazz recordings of all time and one of Miles' finest trumpet works. It convinces with great sound, range, technique and improvisation. As MThe iles mentions in his book, they put everything into this album. The collaborations with George Coleman on tenor sax, Herbie Hancock on piano, Ron Carter on bass and Tony Williams on drums are breathtaking and hint very well at the new directions they and Miles would take as a small jazz band in the years to come.
