Vydavatelství Epic Records vydává ve spolupráci s Michael Jackson Estate téměř pět let po smrti krále popu nové album Michaela Jacksona s názvem "Xscape".

Jako šéf Epic Records získal L. A. Reid neomezený přístup k archivům Michaela Jacksona, které obsahují také všechny hlasové nahrávky za posledních 40 let. Reid se pak stal kurátorem konečného seznamu nahrávek vybraných pro toto album.

Tyto nahrávky byly předány producentům, jako jsou Timbaland, Rodney Jerkins, Stargate, Jerome "Jroc" Harmon a John McClain. Úkolem bylo přepracovat písně tak, aby zněly svěže a moderně, a přitom zachovat uměleckou integritu Michaela Jacksona. Hudba Michaela Jacksona měla být přenesena do současnosti - stejně jako by to možná udělal sám Michael, kdyby písně vydal dnes.

"Xscape" vyšel 9. května 2014 na CD a jako deluxe edice s CD a DVD, která vedle nových skladeb obsahuje původní verze a dokumentární film. Album vyjde také na vinylové LP desce.
