Surprisingly diverse and tough: Machine Head usher in a new metal year Machine Head have been an integral part of the metal world for more than 25 years. But that doesn't mean the band doesn't still deliver surprises. On the contrary: on "Catharsis", Robert Flynn and co. present their most versatile and arguably heaviest album of 2018 so far. They recorded a full 15 songs for it. And they show their wide range, their full hardness, but also their melancholic side. You can hear influences of folk, grunge, doom, crossover and rap. Of course, always in an unmistakable thrash metal guise. In addition to the band, producer Zack Ohren also took care of the right sound of "Catharsis". The recording took place again at Sharkbite Studios in Oakland, where the milestones "Through The Ashes Of Empires" and "The Blackening" were already recorded. With the title track "Catharsis", we had our first taste of the new album back in December 2017. The first metal highlight of the year is a real surprise: "Catharsis" by Machine Head.
