Lynyrd Skynyrd (pronounced 'Lĕh-'nérd 'Skin-'nérd) is the 1973 debut album by American rock band Lynyrd Skynyrd. Some of the songs on the album are still among the most famous: "Gimme Three Steps", "Simple Man", "Tuesday's Gone" and "Free Bird", the last of which helped the band gain national fame. The album went gold on December 18, 1974 and double platinum from the RIAA on July 21, 1987. The album reached its highest chart position on the Billboard 200 in 1975, when it reached No. 27.
