Ultraviolence is the third studio album and second album by American singer-songwriter Lana Del Rey.It was released on 13 June 2014 by Polydor and Interscope Records. Following the release of Born to Die and Paradise, which met with positive critical acclaim, Del Rey collaborated with Dan Auerbach of The Black Keys on Ultraviolence. The album was preceded by the digital release of the singles "West Coast", "Shades of Cool" and "Ultraviolence". The album "Ultraviolence" was met with critical acclaim and commercial success. It debuted at number one on the US Billboard 200 chart with sales of 182,000 copies in its first week, becoming Del Rey's first album to top the chart. In its first week of release, the album sold 1.2 million copies in the United States and was certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). The album Ultraviolence was nominated for Best Pop Vocal Album at the 57th Grammy Awards. The song "West Coast" was nominated for Best Rock Song and the song "Shades of Cool" was nominated for Best Rock Performance at the 57th Annual Grammy Awards.
