All of his hits, hidden gems and collaborations are now collected in this collected edition. The album features 29 tracks, including songs from his early days in the Famous Flames and J.B.'s, and a large collection of important songs from his solo career. Brown began his career as a gospel singer and in the 1950s joined the rhythm and blues vocal group Famous Flames as lead singer. He later formed his own band and released successful singles such as "Papa's Got a Brand New Bag", "I Got You (I Feel Good)" and "It's a Man's Man's Man's Man's World". While taking funk to a new musical level, he formed the group J.B.'s, with whom he scored hits like "Get Up (I Feel Like Being a) Sex Machine" and "The Payback". Brown was inducted into the Rhythm & Blues Music Hall of Fame, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the Songwriters Hall of Fame. Over the years, he has received several honorary nicknames, including "Godfather of Soul", "Mr. Dynamite" and "Soul Brother #1". "James Brown Collected" includes an appendix of notes, photographs and credits.
