With his outrageous and sometimes dangerous stage escapades and the uncompromising rock'n'roll that accompanied them, Iggy Pop foreshadowed the punk of the 1970s (and also the grunge of the 1990s). Iggy, the eternal maverick and saboteur of all conventions, used his twisted social commentary, abrasive vocal style and survivalist skills to translate them into a long-lasting career with occasional commercial success, much critical attention and huge acclaim throughout the pop world. The Many Faces of Iggy Pop explores his career and reveals the lesser-known sides of this iconic star. And for the first time, this journey is led by the protagonist himself, who is none other than Iggy Pop himself, who collaborated with MusicBrokers on this project, giving them full access to his personal musical treasures and enabling the creation of a unique work with some recordings not available anywhere else. The list of musical guests includes David Bowie, Steve Jones, Glen Matlock, Carlos Alomar, Brian James and Nigel Harrison, and Blondie's Clem Burke. The album features alternate versions of Pop's greatest hits, rarities and 10 live tracks recorded during his band The Stooges' reunion tour that have not been previously available. In remastered audio, this is a great addition to The Many Faces collection, which like the other titles in the series is not available on streaming platforms.
