His first solo record was on Blue Note in 1962 with Freddie Hubbard and Dexter Gordon. This release is a testament to his talent as a pianist and composer. Blue Note is celebrating its 80th anniversary and LP fans should of course join in the celebration! In addition to the well-received audiophile Tone Poet LP series, other Blue Note gems will be released on vinyl throughout 2019. The first of these will be three "Blue Note Debuts". For these LPs, Blue Note has compiled the debut albums of three of its most successful artists into a small season. Their "old masters" Herbie Hancock and Dexter Gordon as well as the relatively young lion Robert Glasper are diverse enough.
