Originally released in 1974, this classically haunting soundtrack to Herbie Hancock's Death Wish with Charles Bronson is dark, experimental, yet funky. This soundtrack features contributions in part from former members of the Head Hunters and some other acclaimed musicians, such as guitarist Melvin Ragin. The recordings show Hancock as a versatile musician whose interests and abilities extend far beyond jazz. Jerry Peters comes up with some of the best arrangements of his career and, along with Isaac Hayes' "Shaft," this is one of the best soundtracks of the 1970s.
