Genesis' second album and their first for Tony Stratton-Smith's progressive label Charisma marked a huge leap forward in terms of the young band's songwriting confidence and ability. The only Genesis album to feature all band members contributing to every track, the album owes its place in the hardcore fan's good graces to several great performances throughout the album and in particular the epic track "The Knife", which is regularly cited as one of the highlights of early Genesis albums.
