When the world's most successful prog rock band Genesis released their debut album, it was a revelation. Flash back to 1969, when the band launched their career around future superstars Peter Gabriel and Phil Collins, then still an enthusiastic group of schoolboys eager for recognition. They came up with a concept album that came at just the right time and with which they made rock history. Here are the original Genesis, fronted by charismatic singer Peter Gabriel and featuring the talented keyboardist Tony Banks, bassist Mike Rutherford and guitarist Anthony Phillips. The drummer in this pre-Collins era was John Silver, and together they all came under the wing of visionary producer Jonathan King. This CD release of the album's 13 original tracks in stereo is a tribute to the genius of Genesis The CD also includes 6 bonus tracks consisting of the three singles and their respective B-sides, all in mono. This album is an essential addition to any serious Genesis fan's collection.
