"The main character is referred to as 'The Industrialist'," says Burton, referring to the character at the centre of songs like 'God Eater' and 'Virus of Faith'. "It's a machine that has created its own consciousness and becomes a catalyst for change. The album has a loose concept of a killer plot and realizes that the machine is becoming more and more human every day. The last track of the album "Human Augmentation" is the moment when the machine becomes human and realizes it. It's an idea that is the key to the Fear Factory universe."
