Poppy-classical: Diana Krall with "Wallflower" Diana Krall's new album "Wallflower" was originally announced for October 2014. However, Krall fell ill with pneumonia and postponed the Wallflower tour and release until late January 2015. She is now fit again and we can look forward to a good start to the crossover jazz year. For Diana Krall, the boundaries of genres have always been loose and open. Now she is fully committed to pop. She says herself that she has not made jazz songs, but interprets them simply as she remembers them. "California Dreamin'" by The Mamas And The Papas dates from the first year of her life, 1965, and the title song, "Wallflower" by Bob Dylan, is a 1971 bootleg classic that wasn't officially released until 1991. Diana Krall deliberately chose songs that influenced her in her youth. Her tastes - or the tastes of those around her - were clearly versatile. On her new album "Wallflower", Diana Krall brings us together with good old musical friends. "I'm Not In Love", "Don't Dream It's Over", "Sorry Seems To Be The Hardest Word". The project was accompanied by the experienced producer David Foster. After her previous experimental album, Diana Krall returns to catchy musical territory with "Wallflower". Slowing down familiar songs. Diana Krall enters into a dialogue with these classics quietly and calmly, as if she wants to trace memories of her childhood and youth in a particularly gentle way. This leaves the listener plenty of room to add his own memories to the music. Very nice. Diana Krall shows us her early musical influences in the song "Wallflower". The selection is very personal and at the same time so broad that it will awaken pleasant memories in almost every listener. An album with the potential for happiness.
