Canadian jazz singer and pianist Diana Krall releases Love Is Here To Stay with legendary American singer Tony Bennett, celebrating the work of composers George and Ira Gershwin, who are celebrating their 120th birthdays. The album will be released on 14 September. Diana and Tony, who is celebrating his 92nd birthday, have been friends for over twenty years. They have toured together and collaborated on several duets for Bennet's albums. Love Is Here To Stay, however, is their first venture together. Recorded with the Grammy-winning Bill Charlap Trio, the result is a delicate, sophisticated and beautiful love letter to the music of the Gershwins, complete with masterful vocals, phrasing and compositional and lyrical genius.Love Is Here To Stay was produced by Dan Bennet and Bill Charlap. The album is available on CD, vinyl, digital and streaming platforms.Few in music history have achieved such fame as Tony Bennett. He has sold over ten million records in the last ten years alone and is currently the only artist to reach number one on the Billboard Top 200 between the ages of 85 and 88. In a career spanning several decades, he has contributed many songs that have been included in the Great American Songbook canon. He has been awarded nineteen Grammys and has won a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award, among other awards. He has collaborated with Amy Winehouse, Elton John and Stevie Wonder, among others.Diana Krall is the only jazz artist whose eight albums have debuted at number one on the Billboard Jazz Albums Chart. In her career, she has won five Grammys, had nine albums go gold, three go platinum and seven go multi-platinum, and has become one of the most memorable performers. Diana took up piano at the age of four, won a scholarship to the prestigious Berklee College of Music as a teenager, and in 1999 released When I Look in Your Eyes, which spent 52 weeks at number one on the Billboard Jazz Chart, won two Grammys and went platinum in the United States.
