David Gilmour's double album "Live In Gdansk", produced by himself and Phil Manzanera, documents a concert in Gdansk and shows the musician and his band at the peak of their artistic performance. The six-piece band is supported throughout the "On An Island" tour by an orchestra, namely 40 string players from the Baltic Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra under Zbigniew Preisner. For the first time, Pink Floyd's hits "High Hopes" and "A Great Day For Freedom" are recorded with the orchestra, which had previously been performed exceptionally only at the Solidarnosc concert. David Gilmour was supported by world-renowned musicians Richard Wright, Phil Manzanera, Guy Pratt, Jon Carin, Steve Di Stanislao and Dick Parry for this historic concert.
