On 1 November 1978, it was awarded a Silver Certificate by the British Phonographic Industry. The album was produced by Gilmour and Bob Ezrin and features backing vocals by Roy Harper. It contains the hit singles "Comfortably Numb" and "Money". The album was recorded at Abbey Road studios in London. The album has been re-released several times on CD, most recently in 2006 as a two-disc set with bonus tracks.
