At the time of the release of his first solo album, DAVID GILMOUR was known not only as the great guitarist of Pink Floyd, but also as a charismatic singer - as he proved in the worldwide hit "Wish You Where Here". The self-titled debut, recorded with Journeyman bassist Rick Wills and Sutherland Brothers drummer Willie Wilson, who later appeared in the Pink Floyd touring lineup for The Wall, wasn't as bombastic as previous Pink Floyd records, but it was the shorter, more self-contained songs that made it so appealing. Overall, DAVID GILMOUR's solo debut is a great piece of music that should not be missing from any Pink Floyd fan's collection. On the occasion of the recent release of his new album "On An Island" and the long-awaited release of the Pink Floyd live DVD "PULSE", a re-release of his debut album - remastered by Doug Sax - has been released.
