The "Original Album Classics" CD series, launched by Sony Music in the autumn of 2008, has become a very interesting offer for collectors and music enthusiasts. In addition to classic albums from the label's repertoire, the series is also a treasure trove of long out-of-print albums and rarities. The catalogue now contains almost 200 titles from the fields of rock, pop, jazz and classical music. Each of the boxes offers five or, in a smaller version, three CDs by a single artist at an extremely attractive price. The albums are offered in what are known as "cardboard sleeves" as mini vinyl replicas with original covers. The series presents a uniform look with a large photo of the artist/band and small illustrations on the front cover of the box. The back of the box art also features the sleeves of the included albums with the corresponding track listing.
