Druhá série sleduje dobrodružství Jamieho a Claire ve Francii. S pomocí svého bratrance Jareda, místního obchodníka s vínem, jsou Jamie a Claire vrženi do honosného světa francouzské společnosti, kde se to hemží intrikami a večírky, ale politické zisky se ukazují jako mnohem méně plodné. První polovina alba proto představuje hudbu z Paříže, počínaje francouzskou verzí "Skye Boat Song".
