Resurrection Records

The Resurrection Records shop in Camden, London, UK was established in 1992/3 after a short period operating solely by mail order. Resurrection Records gained an underground reputation for specialist Industrial, Gothic, Punk and Metal catalogues, aided by a policy to source music from it's worldwide network of contacts in a broad range of independent local scenes plus distribute UK artists into these networks. From very early on, Resurrection Records also operated as a label, releasing music by underground artists. Key signings have included UK groups, Vendemmian, Inkubus Sukkubus and Manuskript, (all of which produced a number of albums for the label). These bands were a major players in the UK arm of the "third wave" of gothic rock that emerged in the early 1990's. The shop became a recognised tourist destination for overseas music fans visiting london's scene clubs (notably slimelight, the devonshire arms) or attending UK festivals. Many are unable to source such music locally.
