Originally founded as an online hip-hop record store in 2002, under the name hiphopvinyl.de, it was rebranded to HHV.de in the fall of 2005: The main reason was that the initial repertoire of hip hop, jazz, funk and soul has very much opened up so that today it includes electronic music, reggae, rock as well as indie.
In June 2018 the umbrella brand HHV was redesigned and renamed, as was its Label - the .de was skipped and the writing in capital letters was introduced. Since then, the name of the Label is also HHV.
