Ember Records

Also appears as "Ember" only. British label formed in the early 1960s by club owner and promoter Jeffrey S. Kruger, owner of the important Flamingo Club, London. Kruger originally launched Ember Records International Ltd as both a label and company but the "International" was dropped from the name ca. 1964 to become Ember Records Ltd. for the company and Ember Records was started as a label brand. The label operated until the late 1970s when Kruger felt he could no longer allocate the time required to run it. The label specialised in licensing records from US independent labels. Amongst its early releases were UK issues of albums by James Brown and Glen Campbell. NOTE: For the US label of the same name please use Ember Records (3).
