The Vines are an Australian rock band formed in Sydney in 1994. The group rose to prominence with their debut album, "Highly Evolved," in 2002, which garnered critical acclaim and commercial success. Known for their energetic live performances and the raw vocals of lead singer Craig Nicholls, The Vines became a significant part of the early 2000s garage rock revival movement, often being compared to bands like The Strokes and The White Stripes. Following their initial success, they continued to release albums including "Winning Days" and the aforementioned "Melodia" in 2008 and "Future Primitive" in 2011. Despite facing challenges such as Nicholls' diagnosis with Asperger's Syndrome, which affected the band's touring schedule, The Vines maintained a dedicated fan base and continued to contribute to the rock music scene with their distinct blend of grunge, alternative rock, and psychedelic sounds.
