Roberto Alagna is a renowned French tenor of Sicilian descent, celebrated for his expressive voice and charismatic stage presence. Born on June 7, 1963, in Clichy-sous-Bois, France, Alagna initially gained recognition in the operatic world after winning the Luciano Pavarotti International Voice Competition in 1988, which propelled his career forward. He made his professional debut as Alfredo in "La Traviata" with the Glyndebourne Opera touring company and has since performed at many of the world's leading opera houses, including La Scala in Milan, the Metropolitan Opera in New York, and the Royal Opera House in London.
